Le Meridien Hotel
333 Battery Street
San Francisco, CA 94111
The Le Meridien in San Francisco is an upscale
hotel in the downtown financial district a few blocks away from
the Transamerica Building on the corner of Battery and Clay Streets.
The 24-story building has high quality
amenities, including an high-end fitness center (no pool), lobby
bar, and restaurant. The 23rd floor room I stayed in was very
spacious and had beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline
and bay from two floor to ceiling windows. The room itself was
a corner minisuite that was one very large room separated by
a large credenza in the middle. The TV in the credenza could
swing 180 degrees so that one could watch the television either
from the bed side, or the living room sofa and office desk on
the other side of the credenza. The TV was not a flat screen
-- a 25" inch TV that could do a 360 swivel. There was a
high end CD player in the room too. Furniture was dark wood --
very classy. The bathroom had a large glass-enclosed shower and
separate bathtub with marble tile.
High speed internet access in the room
is $12.95 but there is a business center in the lobby area that
provides free access. The hotel is easy walking distance to the
Embarcadero, Ferry Terminal Building, and Chinatown.
The rate for a minisuite is around $340
per night for the minisuite. A regular room is usually under
$200 per night.
