First Indigo Hotel Arrives in Taiwan

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has opened Hotel Indigo Kaohsiung Central Park, bringing the boutique hotel brand to Taiwan for the first time.

As the sixth property of the Hotel Indigo brand in Greater China, Hotel Indigo Kaohsiung Central Park is also the first international branded hotel in the southern city of Kaohsiung. With 129 spacious guestrooms and suites, the hotel offers guests an authentic and personalised experience immersed in the culture and ambience of the local neighbourhood.

IHG has also signed contracts for two new Hotel Indigo projects in Taipei and Alishan as the brand expands its footprint in Taiwan.

With 149 guestrooms, 24-hour restaurants, and a delightful selection of entertainment choices, Hotel Indigo Taipei North will be located at the heart of Dazhi Business District, adjacent to historic and cultural landmarks including the National Palace Museum.

With 84 guestrooms, Hotel Indigo Alishan will be situated in the stunning Alishan National Scenic Area, becoming a preferred option for millions of tourists who visit the area annually.

Kenneth Macpherson, CEO, IHG Greater China, said: “Being in Taiwan for decades with multiple brands, IHG has gained sufficient local insights and established solid relations with our business partners. We have great confidence that Hotel Indigo will invigorate the market here in Taiwan and set a new standard for international boutique hotels that will delight our guests.”

IHG has a portfolio of six brands in Greater China, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, HUALUXE Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts and Holiday Inn Express, with 277 opened hotels and 238 in the development pipeline by the end of the third quarter of 2016.
