Hilton Honors members can still earn double points thru the rest of the summer. The company has extended its double points or double miles promotion that was set to expire on May 31 for another three months until August 31.

The promotion lets members choose between earning double points or double miles. Once you have selected which option you want, it can’t be changed.

Free nights can be had for as little as 5,000 points but most hotels in the Hilton system require at least 30,000 points for a free night. Hilton says all hotels are participating in the Double Miles or Double Points promotion.

When you stay at a hotel or resort within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, you earn 10 Base Points for every US dollar spent on your room rate and other eligible room charges, including telephone calls and room service.

Some exceptions apply: At Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites hotels, earn 10 Base Points for every US dollar spent on your room rate only. At Home2 Suites hotels, you earn 5 Base Points for every US dollar spent on your room rate only.

Hilton Honors has over 44 million members.
