COLUMBUS, OH — The Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel is unveiling big changes to both their guest rooms and their personnel. This year, the hotel underwent major updates and welcomed a new General Manager and Director of Hotel Operations to their executive team.

After a six-month renovation, 376 modern guest rooms and 32 suites were completed in April. The renovation included vibrant changes to the rooms and bathrooms to make them less ordinary and more inspiring. Each guest room incorporates new carpet, paint, wall vinyl and furniture pieces for a completely refreshed look. The bathrooms have been expanded and feature a barn door design for easier access.

Chuck O’Donnell stepped into the role of General Manager of the Renaissance Hotel in January. He has been a Marriott employee for 28 years, beginning his career as a Bellman in Irving, TX. O’Donnell has filled a wide variety of roles during his time with Marriott, and has most recently served as General Manager for Kansas City Airport Marriott and Director of Hotel Operations for Minneapolis City Center Marriott.

The Renaissance Columbus Hotel also welcomed Abbey Griffith in May of 2016 as the new Director of Hotel Operations. Originally from Wisconsin, Griffith began her career at Marriott in 2001. Before moving to Columbus, Griffith served as Rooms Operations Manager as well as Assistant General Manager for the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel.
